Standard type polished straight machete, used to carry out specific cutting work in the field, the main

function is to cut, with a blade length of 50.8 cm + 2.0 cm (20 inches), weighing from 0.390 kg to

0.500 kg , handle in black color complies with the standard NMX-O-118-1977 "Machetes" (in force),

with the following features:

Blade: Sheet of rolled and/or stamped steel, forged from a single piece of heat treated steel with

quenched and tempered high carbon; the blade is composed of a handle and a cutting section, the

latter with a sharp edge from the tip and up to approximately 10 cm. on one of its sides.

Steel: AISI / SAE 1070 quality that provides hardness, flexibility and high durability on its edge; its

chemical composition contains 0.65 to 0.75% carbon, 0.60 to 0.90% magnesium, maximum 0.040%

phosphorus, maximum 0.050% sulfur.

Hardness: With a minimum hardness range of 48 degrees in the Rockwell C slave.

Finish: It is polished along the entire length of both sides of the blade except for the section of the

handle, it is also protected against oxidation with a transparent protective coating, it is also free of

burrs, cracks and deep marks and deformations.

Handle: Made of high-impact resistant plastic material, made up of two parts that are firmly attached

to the handle section of the steel blade with an additional system that improves the grip on the

machete and reduces impacts.
