Specialized equipment for the control of forest fires of 5 gallons capacity and 2,500 to 2,900
kilograms of dry weight, from 56 to 59 cm in height and 42 to 43 cm in width in yellow color.
This backpack is composed of:
1.- Bag made of highly resistant pvc-vinyl, with eyelets to be used on the shoulders, with an 8
cm inlet for refilling water with its respective cap and in its lower part with a swivel coupling
to connect the hose that is integrated to the manual pump.
The sealing of the bag is complete in all the contours of it with a width of 3/4 ”which
eliminates possible openings due to efforts in heavy work. To be more resistant to punctures,
the bag is made with two walls or sheets and each sheet or wall has the following features:
-Resistance to breaking: 420/380 kgs. X 5cm2 NP at ISO O 1421
-Resistance to tearing: 60/50 kgs. X 5cm2 DIN 53363
-Self-extinguishing material less than 100 mm / min. Speed of flame propagation.
-Resistance to adhesion 10kgs x 5cm
This bag has a legend printed on the outside with a letter proportional to the size of the bag
in black that indicates “NO ES APTA PARA BEBER” (this legend is in Spanish) and “NOT FOR
DRINKING” (legend in English).
2.- Hose made of flexible rubber material with an internal diameter of 9.5mm and 1.20 to 1.25
meters in length, with a male type coupling which is connected to the coupling of the tank or
bag.
3.-Manual pump equipped with a mouthpiece (trombone type) made of material resistant to
corrosion and atmospheric humidity; Made of stainless steel, this nozzle has an outlet or
nozzle to apply the water in the form of mist and another to apply the water in the form of a
jet, it also has a male connector with an exact fit socket, to be inserted into the hose. This
pump offers continuous feeding.
4.-Harness consisting of two adjustable black nylon straps with a total length of 90
centimeters and a width of at least 4 centimeters.
These shoulder straps have a special padding to protect the shoulders of the operators, which
allows ergonomic adjustment. The backpack has a handle at the top to hold when filling it.
This equipment complies with international standards such as: USDA Forest Service
Specification 5100-256c “PUMP, FIRE, BACKPACK, HAND-OPERATED”
